V360 Publishing — Work Hub

The song side — compositions, writers, splits, PROs.
Covers the Westbury / Dave situation and the V360 Publishing build · owner: Solomon (strategy) · Clara (legal/incorporation) · updated 2026-07-23

First — the two-channel rule

Recording money and song money are structurally separate, and both have to work.
Recording (master) → PPL + SoundExchange → collected by the label / V360 Audio.
Composition (song) → PRS + MCPS → collected by the writers and their publisher.
Either being broken means money lost. This hub is the second one — the side that has been quietly broken the longest.

The Westbury situation — Dave's publishing

The canonical "we'll sort it later" problem, running for ~30 years. Subject 13 Music has been administered by Westbury Music for about three decades. No contract is held by V360 or Dave. No money has been received in many years. No new registrations have been made. That is unresolved publishing quietly costing income every year it stays unresolved.
FactDetail
Administered workSubject 13 Music — PRS documents JR has seen confirm Westbury administration, with registered works listed
FounderCaroline Robertson (NOT Davies — corrected). Historically senior at PRS. 30+ year relationship with Dave.
ContactJon Handle (NOT John). Pattern: hyper-keen then goes dead — twice now (~7 years ago and ~3 years ago).
Westbury's scale70,000+ works, UK underground dance specialists. This is peer-grade negotiation, not an admin cleanup — treat them as a serious counterparty.
ContractNone held. The deal has to be reconstructed from PRS records.
MoneyNothing received in many years.
JR's strategic frame — a deliberate hold, not neglect. Re-engage when the R&S release lights Dave's name back up (summer 2026), so we approach from strength with current activity behind us rather than as a dormant back-catalogue enquiry. That window is now open — worth deciding whether to move.

The path, in order:

1
Albert pulls the PRS records — the only way to reconstruct what was actually agreed and what's registered. Dave's PRS number is with JR
2
Reconstruct the deal from those records — term, territory, scope, whether it ever expired.
3
Solomon maps the registration gaps — which works are registered, which aren't, which territories are uncovered.
4
Decide the forward structure — what V360 Publishing takes on vs what stays where.
5
Re-engage via Caroline Robertson, not Jon Handle. The founder relationship with Dave is the route that has actually held; the Handle channel has gone dead twice.

⚑ Check Dave's PRO status — before anything is filed

Runs alongside the same check on the recording side. Three questions:
  • Dave's PRS membership — number is with JR. Needed to pull records and to register works correctly.
  • What's already registered under Westbury / Subject 13 Music — register only the gaps. Filing over existing registrations creates disputes, not income.
  • Dave's PPL position (performer + rightsholder) — the recording-side twin of this question. Unclaimed performer money may be sitting at PPL in his name from 30 years of Vibez recordings. Back-claims are time-limited.

V360 Publishing — our own build

Mandate: aggressive income from day one. Solomon owns strategy; Clara owns legal + incorporation. Currently a plan, not an entity.

WorkPositionStatus
Ric / "Hometown" bedJR + Ric writer split. Basis must be PRS-truthful — arranger's share if JR genuinely arranged/adapted; if the role is really commercial, structure as a share of income, not a writer credit (a weak basis can be challenged).JR to confirm basis
Violet Riot / AuroliminalSongs written by JR + Dave — human. Composition side is clean; the AI question sits on the master side only. AI-assisted = registrable WITH mandatory declaration.register on release
Vibez back catalogueComposition side of 30 years of recordings — the twin of the PPL registration work.map the gaps
R&S-released tracksR&S holds publishing on tracks released through the deal. Know what's caught before assuming anything is free.confirm scope
Hard rule — splits in writing, always, before registration. Studio handshakes on splits are the single biggest source of catalogue disputes years later. No work gets registered on a verbal agreement. ISWCs are issued automatically by PRS on registration — log each one back against its matching ISRC.

Memberships & territorial coverage

Coverage = territory. Map the gaps quarterly; each society has its own registration logic.

PRS AI policy (Oct 2025): AI-generated is NOT registrable. AI-assisted IS registrable with mandatory declaration. Auroliminal sits in the assisted lane — declare per track. Subject 13 and Vibez are AI-free, so their declaration is simply "none".
